An allergy is an immune reaction to a substance in the environment called an allergen. And major allergens among children include food, insects, drug, dust, pollen and animal dander. These can cause respiratory allergies, skin allergies like eczema, intestine problem, etc.
Nasal allergies and protections:
These allergies are caused by dust mites, animal dander, pollen and mold. Some kids are allergic to feather pillows and wool blankets. But some time parents get confused, if their child is suffering from allergy or simply cold, because the symptoms of both are much close. But there is some difference too that can be helpful to diagnose the right one.
If your child always seems to be have a cold, then it would be allergy not cold, because cold wind down approximately in a week to ten days.If the mucus that drains from the nose is not thick and greenish but thin and clear, he is sneezing much more than normal, he is constantly rubbing and pushing up his nose and breath through his mouth, then your child is suffering from allergy.
If you observe given signs in your child, then you need to protect him from that reasons that cause allergy to him
- Keep your child away from dust mites, encase their mattress in a cover made of tightly woven fabric. Wash their bed sheets and pillow covers with hot water on weekly bases.
- If your child allergic from animal dander, then, wash your pet frequently with the shampoo that reduces dander, to keep the dander down.
- During the pollen season, try your best to keep your child indoor. And the windows and air ducts should be closed during that season. In case your child goes outdoor, then bath him and dry his cloth in dryer.
