The kid's milk teeth are as important, as permanent. kids need healthy teeth, strong jaws to chew their food and have a charming smile. Milk teeth keep space in jaws for the permanent teeth. If a milk tooth lost too early, the teeth beside it may drift into the empty space. and at the time of permanent teeth, there may not be enough place. This can be resulted into crooked and crowded teeth. The infants can also get cavities.
The cavities are caused by acid attacks on a susceptible tooth. The acids are formed due to the interaction of bacteria(plaque) and ferment-able carbohydrates.
The ferment-able carbohydrates and the liquids are allowed to pool around the teeth, the bacteria that are present will form acid, which eventually leads to decay. Upper anterior teeth are more pron teeth than others.
Care and tips: Tooth decay is preventable, But for this purpose, parents need to take some steps.
- do not allow the child to have a bottle in their mouth for a long time.
- after each feeding, wipe the baby's gums with something soft, such as a damp gauze pad. And reinforce your toddlers and elder kids to brush teeth a minimum of twice a day, especially before going to bed.
- Discourage your kids to use more sweets and juices.
